Reflection:
The hardest part of this assignment is to understand my belief. Thing I did well on this assignment is that m story is really good, real and touched. If I had t do this assignment again, I will write less words... What I learned from this assignment is that I know what my belief is.

The Kindness of Strangers
I am a fifteen
year-old girl who lives in Shanghai. Shanghai is a crowded and modern city,
where everyday you meet many people, most of them are strangers. Some people do
not trust strangers, but I believe in the kindness of strangers.
When I was in kindergarten, my mom usually asked strangers for directions and I just stood beside her and watched. Every time I see a smile and the warmth on a stranger’s face, it strengthens my belief in the kindness of strangers. when we have problems, they can help us fix them; if we need help, they will lend a hand ; and when we ask them for something, they can trust us as well. “There are a lot of good people in this world, but there are a lot of bad people too.”, my mom would always say to me. I know we can’t trust strangers all the time, but I do believe there must be some strangers that I can trust like a friend.
When I was in seventh grade, I walked to school everyday. One day, everything was as usual: beautiful sunshine, crowded roads and bad air. But after halfway, the sky started to rain heavily. Unluckily, I forgot to bring my umbrella. I didn’t know what to do except run in the rain because I was going to be late for school. However, a miracle happened. I heard someone calling behind me, a girl’s voice. At first, I didn’t think she was calling me because we didn’t know each other, but she kept calling. I turned around and I saw her running towards me with an umbrella. I was shocked, I didn’t expect a stranger would offer help to someone they didn't know. I was very touched. She ran up to me and said “Hey, let’s share my umbrella.” I was very thankful but I didn’t know how to thank her, so I just kept saying “Thank you.' over and over again. She and I were in the same school, but I didn’t know her before. There are two buildings in our school: my classroom was in the building farthest from the gate but her classroom was nearby. I told her to go to her classroom, that I could run to my class by myself, but she said she would come with me. I was more impressed. Since that day, the belief of kindness of strangers was deeply rooted in my heart.
A famous female pilot Amelia Earhart once said “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does for others is that it makes them kind themselves.” Like me, that stranger threw out a root of kindness for me, and I will make new trees. Because of her act of kindness, I learned to be kind to others. In the future, if I see a stranger who needs help, I will do whatever I can do to help him or her and that stranger will learn from me and help others.
This I believe.
